Glenn Beck's Latest Theory: Donald Trump's Campaign Is A Plot To Elect Hillary Clinton

Home Disclaimer Contents For Glenn Beck Share This URL
Glenn Beck dedicated an entire segment of his radio program on December 1st to excoriate Donald Trump for mocking a New York Times reporter with a disability last week and then laughably trying to deny that he had done so. After repeatedly blasting Trump, Beck eventually began to speculate that the real estate mogul's entire campaign for President is part of some secret deal to help Hillary Clinton get elected to the White House.
After pointing out that pretty much all of Trump's stated positions make no sense and often directly contradict his previously stated views, Beck concluded that is is "more logical" to conclude that Trump is running for president in order to launch a third party campaign for the purpose of undermining the Republican Party and benefiting of Hillary Clinton.

Via Right-wing Watch:
"What are the odds that he is a spoiler?" Beck asked. "What are the odds that he got into this because he's friend with the Clintons and he'll get massive payback? If Hillary Clinton gets in because he ran third party, do you know the favor they're going to owe him?"
"It makes no sense otherwise," Beck insisted, adding that "it's more logical to believe that" scenario than the idea that Trump is actually a Republican or even someone who really cares about the issues.

A week after Beck made this assertion, Jeb Bush chimed in with agreement. Via WaPo:

Mainstream Jeb Bush is on the same wavelength as Glenn Beck.

Extreme opinion is now mainstream.

Jeb Bush is a desperate candidate.

While this Reviewer is busy working on other efforts, it's good to see progressives taking Glenn Beck's rants apart, not that Beck's followers care. For your listening pleasure then, here are three videos to watch.

"Crazy" like a fox

For the record, we do not believe Beck is crazy, but his propaganda has gone down hill since he left Fox "News."

Secular Talk host deconstructs Glenn Beck's Iran deal fear-mongering

Home Disclaimer Contents For Glenn Beck Share This URL
Because the blogger has bigger fish to fry than Glenn Beck and his team of corporate stooges, it's helpful to have other commentators critically address his idiotic self-contradictions and baseless fear-mongering. Beck, quite naturally, railed against the nuclear deal the President's team recently finished negotiating with Iran.

Lisa's scared; hold her

Home Disclaimer Contents For Glenn Beck Share This URL
The following is a reprint of a column written by Review collaborator, Lisa Houserman. She wrote this for Community News in Linesville, PA, and her column is called "Lisa's Rants and Raves."

I was almost at a loss in terms of penning something at all readable this week until I spoke with an advertiser who shone a light on a certain subject. The topic sparked some kind of chemical reaction in my brain, thus making the gray cells leap into action.

Because of the above-mentioned, I shall be bringing you some kind of warped info via this column space, yet again.

She broached the subject of how chilling it is to simply watch the evening news. We bantered back and forth about how frightening items of a newsy nature can be and then I released her from bondage.

I could totally relate to her news apprehension because I, too, have been horrified, petrified, and any other word that ends in “ified,” in terms of the headlines of the day.

For example, I clicked the telly to the on position the other day, almost in passing, only to be startled to full-blown-attention due to what I heard. It was something along the lines of this: ISIS is on the move—sleeper cells are clustering, or whatever sleeper cells do, members of said organization are ready to pounce like, well, Tigger from Winnie the Pooh. Wait—he bounces. Sorry for the confusion. I mean, they had me thinking that armed terrorists were lurking at every turn.

I can feel the unease coming at me full force. I'm not trying to say that this group isn't a total danger because, well, I can't really say that. However, we must do something here to maintain some sort of sanity over it all and I pick this. I can either hide under the computer table, like in the olden days, or try to press on by not taking things too seriously. I am speaking of the news business, after all. Guess what? Sometimes they exaggerate, just a touch, if touch is now defined as “to the max,” to keep viewers tuned in.

I casually asked my son to list just a few things that he has heard, of an alarming nature, as of late. This was, of course, in order to fill this column space. By the time I literally walked from the bedroom to our front door, (eight to ten steps, depending on the stepper), he had spewed forth three items in rapid fire succession.
Now is the time to casually segue into some of those other topics. Brace yourselves.

You might recall a few weeks, or a month, who keeps track, back, there was a horrid plane crash. We can always count on CNN to keep us abreast of all things concerning any crash but, I digress. Plus, I've written about that particular network's obsession with all plane all the time news. Therefore, I shall spare you now by not revisiting that lurid scenario.

At any rate, that tragedy actually did succeed in making me cower in fear. I mean, a man on a suicide mission, took the lives of all on board. Even I cannot bring myself to shrug off such shenanigans for entertainment purposes.

Rather, I will impart how I have decided to deal with planes, in general. I am not flying again unless I'm totally doped up on every kind of legal and illegal drug known to man. There, I said it.

Skipping on, in my delightful fashion, I am not sure if the ISIS threat is more daunting or if actually being pulled over by the police is more perilous. Every week we discover that another person has been killed by those in charge of our safety. Oh dear, my claustrophobia is kicking in because I can feel the dirt covering me in my shallow grave. Sorry but this is unavoidable information that we must all take in.

Whilst taking in said information, I am begging you to visit various news outlets. Don't rely solely on Fox or CNN—wait, they are still covering the plane crash, I'm sure. At any rate, I've now been forced to search the web, gaze at many a telly outlet, peruse papers galore, blah, blah, blah, in order to garner a shred of truth and accuracy. It's no wonder that I don't have time to do house work, cook and keep up with the laundry. Slick one huh?

As I was making my way through an online source, I happened upon Glenn Beck. Oh calm down now. I got pretty curious as to his latest attempts at paralyzing listeners with fear and I was not disappointed. Well, I was, but, you know what I mean.

Allow me...to say that I used to live for this person. I LOVED him with a total, not a partial, but a total, passion. This would have been when he was declaring that he was a libertarian of some sort. Then, about, I don't know, maybe seven years ago, or so, he took more of a turn for coo coo for Cocoa Puffs and I had to end our torrid affair.

fears of a clown

Well, he has come out with some interesting cause and effect as only he could. It goes a little something like this. He said that if gay marriage becomes the law of the land, within five years, 50% of churches will “fall away.” He proceeded to say that the congregants would leave over the whole deal.

I explained his prediction to Best Friend Nurse Karen today, by comparing his exceptionally odd “theory” to the following: “I will get an ingrown toenail of massive proportions next Wednesday because you are on call for your job this weekend.” I mean, it makes as much sense as his bizarre ravings, I think.

What on earth is Glenn Beck talking about? I mean, talk about cause and effect gone awry. Why would gay marriage have any sort of negative ramifications in terms of church attendance, business, whatever one calls it?

My dear mother is a church goer. She has told me, over the years, that the faithful have not been filling the pews—for a while. Mind you, Mother is simply concerned about her church and was not being Judy Judgmental in terms of low presence in the audience. Good gravy, I don't want to get that woman in trouble, AGAIN.

Anyhow, I did gently, yet effectively, let her on a little secret, which she already kind of knew, actually. I imparted that low turn out really has more to do with the fact that agnosticism and atheism are actually on the rise here in the US of A. Non believers are the fastest growing group these days, in other words. I tend to think that scenario is a bit more realistic than our dear GB's lunatic predictions.

Staying on Beck for a minute longer, I'm sorry but I must, I recall that he said something along the lines of Fox News and talk radio going bye-bye due to the first election of President Obama. Hmm, I'm thinking that his Nostradamus meter is off just a tad as, the last time I checked, both are alive and well to this very day.

Well, I've said enough to have the public at large, and small, reaching for the infamous pitchforks so I'm signing off now. I think I've covered all areas of how the news can be downright bloodcurdling. I suppose if one considers the source it eases the fear, just a touch.

Beck: Supreme Court Marriage Ruling Will Ban the Bible

Home Disclaimer Contents For Glenn Beck Share This URL
The following article is a partial re-post from Addicting Info. Wes Williams' view on Beck's words are priceless.

...leave it to Beck to really go off the rails. He says that he wants to “make sure that people understand” that if the Supreme Court rules in favor of marriage equality, churches could lose their tax exempt status. “Maybe right away, maybe not right away, but it will happen,” he says.
You could lose your job by attending a church that doesn’t believe in gay marriage,” Beck continues. Seriously? Of course he offers nothing to back up that claim, because there are no facts to support it. That is just nonsense pulled from the nether regions of Beck’s backside.
In the warped mind of Glenn Beck, all of that means that the Bible will have to be banned, too, because “it’s a hate book.”
It’s worth repeating that a religion’s definition of marriage is not the same as a state’s definition of it. Marriage can be a spiritual contract sanctioned by a church, and churches have every right to determine who can enter into that spiritual contract.
Advocates of marriage equality are not asking that churches recognize their marriage, at least for the most part. They are asking that they be allowed to enter into a state sanctioned marriage, which will grant them legal rights that currently only heterosexuals are entitled to in many places. States automatically recognize marriages performed in church, but churches do not automatically recognize marriages performed by a representative of the state, such as a justice of the peace. Whatever ruling the Supreme Court issues, nothing about that will change. What is so hard to understand about that?
How pathetic is it that two people who are supposedly followers of Jesus feel the need to scare other supposed Christians by making up absolute nonsense about what will happen if a group of Americans is given equal rights?
Here’s the minute and a half of absolute BS, via Right Wing Watch:

Beck finally discusses TPP but not as fundamental transformation it would be

Home Disclaimer Contents For Glenn Beck Share This URL
Glenn Beck finally had a guest on his show today to discuss the unconstitutional Trade Promotion Authority, the fast-track legislation that would make passing of Obamatrade much easier. However, he still has no clue how Obamatrade would fundamentally transform the United States from a somewhat democratic order into a state governed by corporate-crafted rules.

His guest was Rep. Dave Brat who unseated House Majority Leader Eric Cantor in 2014. Via Glenn Beck's website, listen to Brat, Beck and the other two, clueless stooges discuss the TPA:

"So I just don’t know who to believe." Clearly Beck has no idea what's in the Trans-Pacific Partnership, an ignorance that marks his rise to fame. He can't distinguish between genuine conservatives, who support the Constitution, and corporatists who support the international, corporate coup des lois that largely defines the TPP. Five days before he won the election in 2008, then Senator Obama promised he would "fundamentally transform" the United States, something that has had Beck extremely concerned throughout the term of Obama's administration. Beck is not informed or educated enough to understand the difference between a conservative, like Brat, and a corporate tool like Senator Ted tea-party-in-name-only Cruz.

On the same radio program today, Beck fretted about Obama's definition of "rugged individualism." Obama recently stated, "The rugged individualism that defines America has always been bound by a shared set of values. That we're in this together." THAT, Beck worried, was going to fundamentally transform America. Setting aside the fact that nationalism and rugged individualism are not mutually exclusive, Obama's words will have no impact on the future of the United States. Obamatrade, on the other hand, genuinely will transform the U.S. into a fascistic, corporate order. It is treason. Just when Beck's vitriolic dissent is needed, he's confused. Most genuine conservatives understand what's at stake with the vote on fast track authority tomorrow. Glenn Beck? He...

Millennials: Glenn who?

Home Disclaimer Contents For Glenn Beck Share This URL
Mediaite, the website that covers most people in the media, has published a piece that covered a Pew Research Center survey on the most distrusted news sources. While Rush Limbaugh was first on the list, Glenn Beck was second.

The author wrote:
Glenn Beck
Once again, a radio host normally associated with older, more conservative audience is unsurprisingly distrusted by younger generations; but also distrusted by the Boomers. For Millennials, the distrust to trust was 21% to 3%; for Gen X, 27% to 11%; and for Boomers, 26% to 16%.
Andrew Kirell added, "Less than 40% of Millennial respondents even knew who Glenn Beck is."

Beck ignoring Obama's coup des lois

Home Disclaimer Contents For Glenn Beck Share This URL
Lately, Glenn Beck's obsession with President Obama has shifted toward attacking anti-tax hawk, Grover Norquist for his alleged ties to the Muslim Brotherhood. Meanwhile, President Obama is pulling out all the stops to foist global corporate governance on the American people with "trade" agreements called the Trans-Pacific Partnership and the Trans-Atlantic Trade and Investment Pact. When there's a real opportunity for some "honest questioning," Glenn Beck is busy attacking a fellow conservative.

Opposition to the TPP and TTIP is not strictly a left-wing effort. On the right, Lou Dobbs, Ed Rollins, Phyllis Schlafley's Eagle Forum, Americans for Limited Government, The Tea Party dot net, the Center for Security Policy, the American Family Association, Alan Keyes, Beck ally Alan West, the CATO Institute, the Reason Foundation and others stand in opposition to these raw deals. So why hasn't Beck focused in on this desired power-grab by President Obama, Traitor in Chief?

There are two possibilities: 1) Beck has no idea that the TPP or the TTIP are being negotiated or that Obama wants to "fast-track" them into law. There is a reason why Beck's biography is subtitled Glenn Beck and the Triumph of Ignorance. (A couple of years ago, Beck had no idea who Grover Norquist was!) 2) The Koch brothers want these trade and regulation treaties to become the law of the land, and they have instructed their puppet propagandist to go along with them. Beck is, after all, a corporate shill.

Corporate propagandist

Anyone with time could make it a point to call into Beck's radio program and ask him where he stands on TTIP. Chances are pretty good, he won't know what you're talking about. If he supports these corporate coup des lois (take-over of laws), then he'll confirm that he's the unprincipled, corporate tool we've been arguing he is for almost five years now.
