This is, of course, sheer race baiting. There is a petition people can sign that calls on advertisers to stop sponsoring his show. Although 130 companies have agreed to stop advertising during The Glenn Beck Show, that has not stopped Glenn Beck.
The Glenn Beck Review supports a boycott of Fox News. This is underway at Fox News Boycott dot com.
It's possible that Glenn Beck will become a liability at Fox News. It's possible that is actually embarrassing to Rupert Murdoch, but that doesn't seem to be the case from comments Murdoch as made. It's possible that Beck will be held accountable if somehow the Democrats hold on to both houses of Congress in this year's elections. It's possible that Beck will have a stroke and become incapacitated. It is not possible that George Soros will hire a hit man to take Glenn Beck out no matter how much Beck fears the possibility.
Considering the likelihood of any of these, doesn't it make sense to deal with Beck's lies, ignorance, hypocrisy and yellow journalism with direct action? Click on the petition link above and add your name to the list of people who believe that Glenn Beck to political discourse as the oil spill in the Gulf is to the ocean: a toxic and disturbing mess.
Update, 7/13/2011: This boycott expanded to involve nearly 400 American companies. On June 30th, Glenn Beck hosted his final show on Fox. It is entirely possible, given the nature of Beck's boss, Roger Ailes, that Beck was released from his contract for strategic reasons rather than financial ones.
